05常見問題Franchise FAQ

Questions investors ask us.

Industry figures are general context from public sources. Tapiocha’s own numbers are in the franchise kit, shared on enquiry.

Enquire now
Why invest in bubble tea right now?

Bubble tea has moved from niche to mainstream in Indian cities, led by Gen Z and millennial customers who have tried it abroad or on social media. Units are compact, the menu is drink-led, and delivery apps add a second sales channel. Franchise India points to the category’s small space and lean staffing as key reasons investors choose it.

Why Tapiocha and not another boba brand?

Tapiocha sits at the premium end: Taiwanese-style recipes, premium Taiwanese ingredients and teas from Taiwan and North-east India. Our Jubilee Walk café is rated 4.6 for dining on Zomato and 5.0 on Tripadvisor, and we already run two formats, a sit-in café and a mall bubble bar, so you can see both working before you commit.

How much do I need to invest?

It depends on the format, city and fit-out. For context, published figures for bubble tea franchises in India range from roughly ₹16 lakh for a kiosk to ₹25–45 lakh for a larger café, covering the franchise fee, interiors, equipment, opening stock and working capital. Tapiocha’s investment for each format is shared in our franchise kit on enquiry.

How much space do I need?

Our bubble bar format suits compact mall and high-street units; our café format needs room for seating. Across the industry, bubble tea units typically run from about 150 sq ft for a kiosk to 450 sq ft or more for a sit-in café. We confirm the right size for your site during location review.

What returns can I expect, and how long is the payback?

Returns depend on location, rent, footfall and how hands-on you are, so we never promise a number. Many bubble tea brands publish break-even estimates of 12–24 months; treat those as context, not a forecast. We walk serious applicants through the real economics of our own cafés during the discussion stage.

What are the franchise fee and royalty?

Most bubble tea franchises in India charge a one-time franchise fee plus a monthly royalty, commonly 5–7% of net sales, and sometimes a 2–3% marketing contribution. Tapiocha’s fee, royalty and term are set out in the franchise kit, which we share once you enquire.

Do I need food and beverage experience?

No, but you do need to be involved. The best partners are hands-on, care about hospitality and are happy to follow recipes and quality standards exactly. Recipes are taught step by step before you open.

What training and support will I get?

You and your team are trained on our recipes, quality checks, hygiene and service before opening, and we support the launch. The full scope of ongoing support, including marketing, menu updates and operations, is detailed in the franchise kit.

How do ingredients and supplies work?

Consistency is the point of a premium brand, so core ingredients such as teas, pearls and syrups come through Tapiocha-approved supply. That keeps every cup tasting the same, whichever outlet a guest visits.

How is a location approved?

We review every proposed site before you sign a lease: footfall, visibility, neighbours, access and rent. Malls, high streets, college areas and office districts tend to suit bubble tea. Tell us your city in the enquiry form and we’ll start there.

How many staff will I need?

Bubble tea is a lean format. A bubble bar runs with a small team per shift, and a sit-in café needs a few more people for service. We help you plan hiring around your opening hours.

Can my outlet sell on Zomato and Swiggy?

Yes. Delivery is part of the model: our Jubilee Walk café already sells through Zomato and Swiggy, and partner outlets can be listed the same way.

What are the next steps?

Send the enquiry form below with your city. We’ll set up an intro call, share the franchise kit, invite you to visit our cafés and review your site, then move to agreement, training and launch.
